Mother and daughter team, Wilma Shields and Katrina Witten have worked hard together to produce this idyllic summer country scene for Rowandean Embroidery.“Many of the scenes we design are based on the beautiful countryside around Derbyshire and Yorkshire, although they are reminiscent of traditional country lanes anywhere in England,” says Wilma. The picture is stitched using simple crewel embroidery techniques which really bring it to life. The mix of dainty French knots, longstitch, stem stitch and lazy daisy give the scene a stunning 3D effect. You wouldn't believe it's so simple to do when the results are so special.
This is a freestyle embroidery design for stitchers with some experience, so make sure you know how to do the stitches mentioned above before you start!
