    How to make a rose

Ribbon embroidery as a technique lends itself to a multitude of designs and applications. It instantly adds class and character to everything from soft furnishings to accessories.

Cut the ribbon on the cross and roll it around three times. Put a few stitches in the bottom to secure it.

Holding the roll in the right hand and the length of the ribbon in the left hand fold the ribbon back and downward and wrap this around the rolls, make a stitch through this to secure it. Continue in this way folding and wrapping the ribbon around about six times.

Cut the end of the ribbon on the cross and tuck into the last fold. Stitch securely into place.
