Fiona Morris first came across Bavarian twisted stitch patterns about 15 years ago. “The twisted stitches make the knit stitches stand forward of the purls, creating a more delicate sculptural effect than basic cables,” she says. “I chose this particular zigzag pattern as it makes a feature of the sides of the sock leg and flows well into the heel section.”

This pattern is designed for three sizes, from S (to fit foot circumference 18cm) to L (to fit foot circumference 22cm). It's available in issue 49 of The Knitter - the price we've listed is for buying the digital issue on Apple Newsstand.
