"Traditional yarns have a special place in my heart,” says designer Rosee Woodland. “Tweedy, sticky wools are soft but durable. Cared for carefully, anything made in them should last you a lifetime and the colours are stunning.” Rosee has chosen shades from JC Rennie that are flecked with warm heather and grass tones, in a gently slouchy beret shape. There should be plenty left over from making the hat to create simple matching wristwarmers, mittens, or even a cowl.
This colourful hat is 24cm deep and 49cm circumference, unstretched. It should fit a head circumference up to 60cm. You'll find all of our knitting abbreviations here.
This is one of our series of pdf knitting patterns first published in The Knitter magazine. If you like this you'll find more Rosee Woodland knitting patterns here on The Making Spot, or check out all our hat knitting patterns.

I'm making this hat with different alpaca yarns in similar colours.

I made it with an other yarn Rowan Felted Tweed DK because I could not find JC Rennie in the shops in my country.
