Richly adorned vest uses beading and colour for a tropical feel
Jane Crowfoot has taken a simple vest and given it a glamorous makeover by adding a richly coloured crochet neckline and straps in this stylish knitting pattern. Extra colour and sparkle is provided by the beaded cast-on and beading details on the main flower motifs, plus a bold beaded tassel on the front. An unusual Fair Isle band around the bottom hem completes the design. This summer vest is knitted in warm shades of Patons 100% Cotton 4ply.
The fabric is quite stretchy and is designed to fit snugly, so the actual bust measurements are smaller than the standard dress sizes they are designed for. If you prefer a less fitted look, we’d suggest you knit a size or two larger than you normally would. If you’d prefer longer shoulder straps, you may need to make the crochet circles slightly bigger by adding an extra few rows. Alternatively, you could make more of the small circles, which would lengthen the shoulder straps slightly.
This patterned is designed to fit eight UK dress sizes, from size 8 (to fit bust 81cm) to size 22 (to fit bust 117cm).
