    Rory tank top & mittens

Subtle, vintage-inspired patterning and a super-soft merino yarn will please kids and parents alike

If you're knitting something for a child, you want to make something that will actually be worn. This tank top and mittens are made in a soft merino from Rico Design, making them comfortable for sensitive skins, while the design is colourful without being garish. “This is a traditional top that will look great on any little boy,” says designer Amanda Jones. “The design uses a simple Fair Isle mixed with a textured stitch. The yarn used is an aran-weight wool with a good smooth finish, which shows off the textured stitch very well.” The tank top is knitted in the round until the armhole shaping, so there are no bulky side seams.
