Bring a touch of glamour to your knitting with this delightful jumper in a kid mohair and silk blend
Create a feminie jumper that's set to become a favourite in your wardrobe this season, with this gorgeous Polly Peachum pattern, by Jennie Atkinson. The elegant frill drapes beautifully around the deep V-neckline of the garment and silver beads pick out the edging, catching the light. Designer Jennie says, “I think this jumper would look great worn over a strappy silky camisole in a complementary colour, providing a flash of contrast texture at the plunging neckline - and also a touch of modesty for those who prefer to layer up a bit more!” Jennie has chosen Rowan Kidsilk Haze for her jumper, that is inspired by the character Polly Peachum in The Beggar's Opera by John Gay. Kidsilk Haze is a kid mohair and silk blend, in 38 varied shades. ”It is a favourite yarn of mine as it is so versatile,” says Jennie. “In designing this jumper I took advantage of its lightness when knitted on larger needles - the resulting stretchiness makes it suitable for glamorous evening wear. Meanwhile, the yarn's drapey quality, with the bead edging adding weight, is great for the generous neck ruffle.”
