It's all about fascinating construction in this uniquely-shaped cardigan, which from the front is an elegant cardigan with gentle wrap-over, yet from the back reveals a secret... The appropriately named Orikaesu - which means 'to fold back' in Japanese - has a shaped back with deep rib edging. It has been created by Amanda Crawford as a sideways knit, with increases into the body that converge to the back neck where the pieces are grafted together.

Other featured techniques include the tubular cast-on and cast-off method, which give a smart, professional finish. Amanda has chosen to use Sublime 4ply Extra fine merino as the yarn for this cardigan - it knits beautifully and has good drape so works well for this soft, fluid garment. The colour palette features 1 shades for a great variety of options; try a sweet sherbert choice, or go for something more dramatic for evening wear. It would look great accessorised with a glamorous corsage or beaded brooch.
