The Bowmont breed of sheep has Merino and Shetland ancestry - need we say any more? Suffice to say, it produces beautiful wool, and Bowmont Braf yarn is made from the wool of Welsh sheep, processed and spun in Wales, so it's great if you're determined to 'Buy British' or are looking for a yarn with a small carbon footprint.
The design is made up of five different patterns of varying lengths. If you're having trouble keeping track of which row of which pattern you should be doing, designer Christine Gilmore says, “To keep track of where you are use stitch counters, then you can go for a brew and know exactly where you finished! Safety pins work fantastically as stitch counters.”
