Juno and Semele

Martin says, “I wanted to use Rowan's Pure Silk as it would be perfect for my mother and daughter pair of cardigans. It's a beautiful 1% silk yarn with a lovely, cool drape that is perfect for evening wear.” The elegant shape allows you to wear the garment on its own buttoned-up, or open as an evening jacket with a camisole or blouse underneath. “For the patterning, I wanted a cable with a bit of bling for an evening out at the opera or theatre. I experimented with beads and cables and came up with the diamond arrangement of beads within a diamond cable - after all, diamonds are a girl's best friend!” laughs Martin. The cable and beading work may look complicated, but is in fact reasonably simple to work. Martin advises, “Just make sure that you thread on the beads before casting on, and keep sliding them down the yarn as you go along.” Rowan Pure Silk is available in 1 shades and the tops have been finished off with fabulous crystal buttons.
