This tunic knitting pattern was designed to allow little girls to dress up a little while still being able to walk on walls, pick up bugs and generally get into mischief! The short length, perfect for wearing over leggings or tights, won’t catch on anything, and the yarn is machine washable at 40 degrees. Simple shaping, combined with in-the-round construction mean no chafing from bothersome side seams either. Work the neck and sleeve cast-offs loosely in rib to ensure a comfortable, stretchy fit. This design could also be worked a size larger – it will have a looser fit, but will still be flattering and will last longer before your little one grows out of it!
This pattern was first seen in The Knitter magazine. It comes in 5 size options - from 2-3 years (to fit chest size 56cm) up to 9-10 years (to fit chest size 73.5cm).
