    Dartmoor hat

Classic beret design uses a herringbone stitch for a dense, warm fabric and a tweedy yarn for added interest

Tweed yarns are hugely popular with knitters at the moment, and Lang’s new Donegal Tweed is a great example. The single ply yarn has slight slubs of tonal colours in its single ply, which varies between loosely and tightly spun to give it great texture. The dense nature of the herringbone stitch allows the light yarn to be used to create a cosy fabric ideal for the coldest months of the year.
