    Advent Calendar

Have yourself a very merry Christmas with our knitted advent calendar!

This fun advent calendar by Belinda Boaden is designed to use up left overs of yarn, making it super thrifty. And that gives you the perfect excuse to ask Santa for some lovely new woolly treats this Christmas! Knit the mini socks plain or striped as you wish, then cross stitch the date onto them in a contrasting colour. Charts are given which can be used for cross stitch or Fair Isle embellishment if you wish, so that once the day has been ‘opened’ the sock can be turned around to show the  pattern. The socks use two different heels and two different toes so you can practise your techniques as well as use up oddments of yarn.

Hi! On the DK sock I don't understand the instruction:
"Continue working one more st each row, as per rows 10 & 11, until you are back at 24 working sts"
Do I take it literally and work 1 stitch per row? I'm confused as that is not what rows 10 & 11 instructions say.
    Rows 10 & 11 instructions for reference:
Row 10: k4, knit the next st with its wrap tbl, wrap the next st, turn.
Row 11: p5, purl the next st with its wrap tbl, wrap the next st, turn.

I'd appreciate any and all help! Thank you so much in advance.

Happy New Year from California.....I can't see anywhere to click on to download the pattern for these cute little Christmas stockings(like the other people having the same problem). I've been trying....Is it possible for it to be emailed to me also? Thank you.

While making the Basic Aran Sock, I had to change the pattern directions to make it have the correct number of stitches on the needle. The Heel Turn directions I changed were the ssk to k2tog on rows 1, 3, and 5.

Wow, this has been a popular pattern! Does anyone who has made this have any good tips to share with Karen, who send this question to The Making Spot inbox:

"I have been trying for two nights now to accomplish the heel turning on the stockings. Is there a trick to it or am I perhaps misunderstanding something.? Any help would be great."

    Any tips, Advent knitters? :)
