    How to knit serpentine

    Try this beautiful lacy stitch pattern to add interest to long sleeves, jumper fronts, and fancy stoles

     

    Cast on a multiple of 8 sts plus 2 sts. (Try 42 sts.)

    Row 1 (RS) K1, *K4, (yo, k2tog) twice; rep from * to last st, K1.

    Row 2 and every WS row, Purl.

    Row 3 K1, *K4, (yo, k2tog) twice; rep from * to last st, K1.

    Row 5 K1, *C4F, (yo, k2tog) twice; rep from * to last st, K1.

    Row 7 K1, *K4, (yo, k2tog) twice; rep from * to last st, K1.

    Row 9 K1, *(yo, k2tog) twice, K4; rep from * to last st, K1.

    Row 11 K1, * (yo, k2tog) twice, K4; rep from * to last st, K1.

    Row 13 K1, *(yo, k2tog) twice, C4B; rep from * to last st, K1.

    Row 15 K1, * (yo, k2tog) twice, K4; rep from * to last st, K1.

    Row 16 Purl.

    Rep rows 1 to 16 to form pattern.
