Step-by-step neat stitches
As seen in Cross Stitcher
There is something essentially very soothing about the science of stitching ... tidy up your work as you go and try our step-by-step guide to getting neater results from your cross stitches!
 Step 1
Bring your needle to the front of the fabric at the bottom left corner of the first square and back through at top right. Work a row of half crosses. |
 Step 2
Now work back on yourself, starting at the bottom right and working to top left. Always start from the closest possible hole to your last stitch. |
 Step 3
If you look at the back of your stitching you'll see a series of small and neat vertical lines. Finish off each thread by weaving through these stitches. |
