Climbing a tree heavily-laden with red berries and fragrant hops, this striking Great Spotted Woodpecker is clearly in search of some tasty bugs hidden under the tree bark. Since it spends much of the day hiding away in dense woodland, you’ll be very lucky if you manage to see one of these beautiful creatures – in fact, you’re far more likely to hear them! Their presence is often announced by a loud call, or a drumming display in the springtime. But, if you don’t fancy your chances of catching a glimpse of this ever-evasive bird, why don’t you stitch this lifelike design instead?
The finished project measures 25x21.5cm.
