This time of year is dreaded by so many of us, mainly because of the long hours of darkness and cold. Helen Philipps’ pretty winter design reminds us that there are some lovely aspects of this season, and her fresh, colourful sampler shows up the best of them.
Offering a modern twist on traditional sampler themes, she has used delicate motifs and dainty stitch shapes to help us recall sunny snowy days when everything is glistening and bright. This is just the first of four seasonal samplers from Helen, so look out for her take on spring!

last one of the set, about 10 hours into it. Hoping to finish it in a week or two, depending on work and other commitments! Then it'll be off to get all 4 framed!
