One of the joys of cross stitching is that our needlework transcends time and place to enable us to go with our stitching and our minds where we otherwise can't. Jane's summer sampler is a way to travel to the needlework past of our stitching forebears and a chance to lose ourselves in the sweet scent and taste of the strawberries all round the border. At the heart of it all is a beautiful Tudor house, flanked by trees, where we can picture ourselves settling down to stitch, the bright, summer sun glinting through the diamond-shaped window panes on to our linen as we work...
