The bright colours and shimmering wings of butterflies are an irresistible sight in summer, captivating young and old. Jane's sampler is based on some of the varieties seen in Britain's gardens and on her travels: “When the children were small, we used to take them to the Cotswold Wildlife Park for a wander on a Sunday afternoon (Family Season Ticket holders!) and this always led to a walk through the hot house to see the butterflies. On more than one occasion, one of the butterflies would land on my glasses, much to the kids' amusement.”
