The amaryllis is one of the loveliest flowers to have around during the festive season, as Caroline tells us, “The amaryllis is an amazing, striking plant, with its huge waxy flowers in vibrant shimmering colours - it's easy to think you're looking at an artificial one! I always like to have one over the Christmas and New Year period, they look so cheerful on a grey, wintery day and it's always fascinating to watch them growing, shooting up and suddenly bursting into glorious flowers.”
