    Christmas pudding, fun, recipe

Designer Sue says: “When I designed this sampler I took a very traditional subject and gave it a bit of a quirky twist by using the sketchy style that I love. In particular, the stars and the holly are a reflection of late 195s cards and wrapping paper that I remember from my childhood. And another childhood memory inspired the design - my great-aunty Nell had been a cook in a large house before the First World War, and always made us her delicious Christmas puds. When my mother served them up, my grandfather would always recite a rhyme - so I added this to the sampler too! I really hope my warm, happy memories come through as you stitch this design for your family. The blocks of colour in whole stitches can be stitched really quickly, and although there's a lot of backstitch it really brings the design to life - I hope it's fun to do. If you're short on time you can just stitch the pudding or the verse at the bottom separately. Enjoy!”This pdf download is a classic addition to our range of Christmas cross stitch patterns.
