Try a new technique with Joan Elliott's pair of blackwork peacocks

For this pair of elegant peacocks Joan has been inspired by traditional woodblock prints. This is an old fashioned technique in which a picture is carved in wood before being inked and pressed down on to a piece of fabric or paper, to create an intricate 'print'. The finished design has an authentic historical feel to it, but the combination of black and white gives it an eye-catching contemporary edge too. It would look great hanging on a wall in a stylish modern flat or in a more traditional home. The linen fabric gives the design a fine, professional finish, but you can use 14 count aida instead if you prefer. If you like this, you'll love Joan Elliot's range of chart packs too!
