    Barn owl at night

Capture the beauty of the barn owl, as he keeps watch over the outside world, with this mesmerising design from Anchor

With huge black eyes set into a white heart-shaped face, the barn owl is a truly beautiful bird. Due to their nocturnal nature and dwindling numbers, we don’t often get the chance to fully appreciate their beauty. Nesting in the roofs and rafters of old abandoned buildings and barns, they tend to emerge at dusk, where (if you’re lucky) you’ll find them on the edges of woodland and riverbanks, in search of mice and voles. If you don’t fancy hanging around in the dark in the hope of catching a glimpse of a barn owl in action, why don’t you stitch this realistic design from Anchor instead? We think it’s almost as perfect as the real thing!

This wonderful chart has a design area of 22.5x28.5cm. It's available in the October 2012 issue of Cross Stitch Collection (issue 214). The price we've listed is for buying the digital issue on Apple Newsstand.
