With huge black eyes set into a white heart-shaped face, the barn owl is a truly beautiful bird. Due to their nocturnal nature and dwindling numbers, we don’t often get the chance to fully appreciate their beauty. Nesting in the roofs and rafters of old abandoned buildings and barns, they tend to emerge at dusk, where (if you’re lucky) you’ll find them on the edges of woodland and riverbanks, in search of mice and voles. If you don’t fancy hanging around in the dark in the hope of catching a glimpse of a barn owl in action, why don’t you stitch this realistic design from Anchor instead? We think it’s almost as perfect as the real thing!
