    A noble Noel

Using luxurious metallic threads in rich festive colours, this blackwork cushion by Lesley Teare is truly fit for a king

Popular during the Tudor period, this opulent style of embroidery featured heavily on the clothes of English kings and queens at the time. And it’s easy to see why, because with intricately stitched details, using black and metallic threads, this traditional style has a real sense of luxury about it.

But, to bring our special blackwork cushion into the 21st century (and to make it all the more festive), we’ve filled our Noel lettering with vibrant red and gold cross stitch. We think it’s the perfect Christmas cushion, and hope it’s one you’ll look forward to using year upon year.

The design area for this cushion measures 19.5x19.5cm.
