    How to pressure emboss

    As seen in Papercraft inspirations

The latest card making trend is all about giving your cards texture – and embossing is the best way to get it! Shirley Toogood shows us how...

Emboss three designs on to coloured card following our simple step-by-step guide below, then cut them out to make textured embellishments by layering them on to brightly coloured backdrops! Remember that when you're actually stencilling, your stencil will be the opposite way round to the way the finished piece will look – vital with greetings and numbers!

    Step 1

Position the stencil on to the front of your paper and fix it in place with small strips of low-tack tape. Now place the paper on to the lightbox, stencil-side-down.

    Step 2

To emboss the handbag, trace round the stencil motif using the embossing tool. Push gently into the paper, following the edges of the apertures as your guide.

    Step 3

Remove the stencil from the paper to reveal a raised design, then cut or punch a circle around the motif. Repeat this to create two more handbag embellishments.
