-
Cover a wooden stirrer with patterned paper to create your windmill’s stick base. Double-sided tape will give a tidy finish!
-
Before inserting brad centres, always punch small holes first, this will help ease the brad’s prongs through.

If you’re posting a windmill that's mounted on a card front, it’s a good idea to use a box to protect it.
Step 1Cut a square from patterned paper and draw diagonal lines from each corner. Mark 1 or 2cm from the centre of the square along each line and then cut up to this point. |
Step 2Pierce a hole in the centre of the square. Next, punch small holes in the same outer corner of each of the four triangular sections around the edge your snipped square. |
Step 3Cut a patterned paper circle slightly larger than a brad, then draw a larger circle and cut it out with scalloped scissors. Punch a small hole in each circle and thread on to the brad. |
Step 4Working in one direction, push the brad through all of the punched corners of the square. Push its prongs through the centre of the square and open out to finish. |
