This fabulous idea for a mini-muffin pan Advent calendar is so clever - as the pan is metal, the 24 decorated squares are backed with magnetic strips to hold them in place! Designer Jo-Anne Cavanagh says, “I had such fun thinking up ideas for the 24 squares, and it was a great way to use up my stash! Chocolate coins were the perfect shape and size to pop in the holes behind the squares.” Although this is a big project, you really don't need to go out and buy lots of embellishments - it's much more fun to make your own with standard card making materials and just a few special bits and pieces. In fact, the whole project needn't cost much at all apart from the muffin pan. Why not get the kids involved too, decorating 'windows' of their own?” It's definitely a chance to let your imagination and creativity go, so take inspiration from these ideas, and see what mini festive delights you can make!

`I used sticky backed magnet sheets it comes in A4 you need about a sheet and a third to do one calendar. I have made three now two as gifts. A great way of using your stash.
If I made another one I would use circles not rectangles.

I know what you mean - I think that's what so special about this time of year - my nephews have brilliant craft sessions! For this we brought magnetic strips and stuck card squares of paper on to them - got ours from Hobbycraft but you can also buy the strips on Amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Magnetic-Craft-Self-Adhesive-Magnet-Strip/dp/B00...

Really interesting idea and having fun with the kids sounds even more appealing to me. This kind of crafting really gets the kid out of you and that's what it makes it priceless. Where can get the printed magnets from?
