Cress is quick and easy to grow, and kids will love to see it sprouting from the head of this paper pal!

Growing cress is a fun activity for kids to tackle over the school holidays, and this 'cress head' character lets them add personality to their project.

Start by printing out the template below (under 'Need a hand with this project?') on to white card. Doodle on a cute face, then dress up your character with patterned paper and buttons. Be sure to line the head with a small plastic bag so it doesn’t get too wet, then add a little damp cotton wool and sprinkle your cress seeds on top.

Once the cress has grown, kids will love snipping wild hairstyles every time you make a sandwich together!
